Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the most recent style guidelines from the American Psychological Association (APA).
  • An abstract of 50-100 words should appear on a separate page. To insure anonymity in the reviewing process, this page should include no author information, but should include the complete title of the manuscript.
  • The name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) should appear on a separate cover page. The first author should also provide telephone number, address, and e-mail address. To insure anonymity in the review process, author information should appear only on this page.

Author Guidelines

Education Libraries is published by the Education Division of the Special Libraries Association. Its audience consists of education information professionals employed in a variety of venues, including special libraries and information centers, academic libraries, public libraries, and school libraries.

Manuscripts submitted for publication in Education Libraries should present research studies, descriptive narratives, or other thoughtful considerations of topics of interest to the education information professional. Manuscripts focusing on issues relevant to more general concerns either in the field of education or in the field of library and information science are also welcome provided they include a significant component specifically germane to education, libraries and librarianship. Education Libraries is indexed in ERIC, EBSCOhost’s Education Collection, and Library Literature. Education Libraries welcomes the submission of original manuscripts. All manuscripts submitted will be considered for publication. Inquiries regarding contributions are welcome and should be directed to the Editor. Please send one electronic copy as an attachment to education.libraries@gmail.com.

References & Footnotes
Authors must utilize the most recent style guidelines from the American Psychological Association (APA). Please make sure they are correct. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of all citations and references as well as for obtaining all necessary copyright permissions.

Layout

The name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) should appear on a separate cover page. The first author should also provide telephone number, address, and e-mail address. To insure anonymity in the review process, author information should appear only on this page.

An abstract of 50-100 words should appear on a separate page. To insure anonymity in the reviewing process, this page should include no author information, but should include the complete title of the manuscript. Using key words from the title, provide a running header or footer on each page. Pages should be numbered consecutively.
